Day 1

Addis Abeba and city tour

Welcome to Ethiopia, the land of natural and cultural diversity and home of ancient civilization!

Welcome to Ethiopia, the land of natural and cultural diversity and home of ancient civilization! Our representative will meet you at Bole International Airport in Addis Abeba and take you to your hotel. Then half-day city tour of the capital with panoramic view over the metropolis from Entoto Mountains, Africas largest open-air-market Merkato and visit of the National Museum with replica of Lucy, our 3.18[nbsp)million year old ancestor, a fossil of a female Australopithecus afarensis found in the Afar Region in 1974. Spend the night at the capital before your adventure will begin. .

Day 2

Addis Abeba - Dorze village - Arba Minch (505 km)

Early morning drive to Arba Minch during which the road partly passes along the Rift Valley and where Oromo, Gurage, Kembata, Hadia and Wolayta people live. On the way visit of the Dorze village and society on the hill near Chencha. The Dorze are skillful weavers and pottery makers and their houses are of unusual shape. Here you will get the opportunity to see how bread is made from the false banana (enset) and to buy some high-quality local souvenirs.

Day 3

Arba Minch - Konso WHS (90 km)

The Konso are famous for their advanced methods of agriculture, for terracing and irrigation. You can also see the Waga, wooden statues carved by the Konso as monuments for their deceased relatives. In addition to that there is an excursion to the village named Gessergio and the area called Fasha. The Konso Cultural Landscape is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4

Konso - Arba Minch (90 km)

Drive from Konso back to Arba Minch and check-in at hotel. After lunch: boat ride on Lake Chamo, which is part of the Nechisar National Park. The lake is famous for the so-called Crocodile Market, a place where huge crocodiles rest during the hot hours of the day. There are also many hippos and various species of birds. An impressive scenery!

Day 5

Arba Minch - Langano (330 km)
Senkelle Swayne’s Hartebeest Sanctuary 

In the morning drive from Arba Minch through the Omo Valley to Langano. Head to Senkelle Sanctuary to visit the Swayne’s Hartebeest, the endangered antelope native to Ethiopia and other animals and birds.

Day 6

Langano - Addis Abeba (200 km)

In the morning: breakfast and some free time to spend at your ease. In the afternoon - after a journey with lots of game viewing, wildlife and nature - you will finally drive back to the busy metropolis with its hustle and bustle. If time allows, you can go to do some souvenir shopping in town or just refresh yourself before the evening programme starts.
You will be offered a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant, enjoy food, music and dance of various ethnic groups and then be transferred to Bole International Airport for your departure or further programme.
